Martell VSOP announced its Top 10 finalists for The Ultimate Start-up Space from 209 business idea submissions.
Martell VSOP launched a contest for aspiring entrepreneurs - the winner of which will get rent-free shop space in Clark Quay for six months, start-up capital of $20,000 and executive training.
Here are the Top 10 finalists with their ideas:
Drew Crothers came up with RADIOactive. He wants to use the space to host a 24/7 radio station studio that can function as an event space for brands and for on-site paid dedications that will go to charity.
Jamie Koh and Cherilyn Tan came up with The Chupitos Bar - a bar featuring shots with tricks, toys, candy and more.
Leroy Xavier Zhong came up with Bon Soir - Dark Dining. It is a dark dining concept where a meal is enjoyed in total darkness where the visually impaired are hired and trained to serve as professional waiters/guides.
Quek Jing Yu and team came up with Hemeryx - The Bar that Connects [Friends & Strangers Around the World]. It is a bar that uses interactive walls to change the ambience and tables with interactive surfaces where patrons can play games with other customers at different tables.
Ganesan Vijay Srinivas came up with OliveScreens - a restaurant where the menu and ambience is dependent on the movie being screened.
Stephanie Chia came up with The Chocolate Museum - a one-stop venue offering quality chocolates from around the world paired with wine and spirits.
Wayne Tan, Kong Sai Hong, Ajax Wui and Ezza Benjie came up with Amnesia - a unique DIY experience with ever changing 360 degree projectors changing the environment you're in along with being able to create your own cocktails.
Timothy Ross-Watson came up with The Sandwich Boutique. It offers unique gourmet sandwiches that are paired with recommended beverages from tea to Martell VSOP cognac.
Low Boon Joo came up with YOUnique. It provides unique professional fashion makeover services ranging from express services for party goers and premium services for special occasions/functions.
And Elaine Pang Peck Yin came up with All Things Green and Beautiful. This space will preserve the environment by creating products from unwanted material, giving them a new lease of life as unique novel products.
The initiative follows from Martell VSOP's Rising Personalities Award that was introduced in 2007.
Invited guests and the media got to find out who the Top 10 were during a party.
