Launch party for unique gin
by Plush|11 February 2012

The heavy downpour threatened to dampen all spirits (no pun intended) at the exclusive launch of Hendricks Gin at Krish, 9 Rochester Park.

Yet, about 100 excited guests, which included members of the media as well as trade partners, still braved the wet weather to be amongst the first to welcome and taste this wonderfully peculiar concoction that is Hendricks.

Encased in an outstanding apothecary-style black bottle, four Hendricks cocktails - Hendricks & Gin, Hendrick's Buck, Hendrick's Basil Smash and Hendrick's Martini were served, alongside delectable canapes.

The venue was luxuriously decked out with full-bloom red roses and copious amounts of cucumber that gave out a sweet and light refreshing scent.

This was in keeping to the true spirit of two of Hendrick's Gin's marvellous ingredients, Rose and Cucumber, that are painstakingly infused into the spirit,

And to add to the unpredictable and offbeat celebratory atmosphere, two stiltwalkers mingled amongst guests for a photo opportunity while a roving magician with tricks up his sleeve left many guests amazed and in awe.

The event ended on a high note with each guest leaving with a miniature bottle of the delightful Hendrick's Gin.

Hendricks’ Gin Cocktails:

Hendrick’s & Tonic
A truly classic concoction which takes quite an unusual turn with Hendrick’s since one must finish its H&T with a marvelous slice of Cucumber in order to combine all this fantastic flavours together and deliver a truly unusual gin and Tonic.

Hendrick’s Buck
Originally rum based, this ancient cocktail was first named the Barbados Buck.

A simple yet efficient blend of ginger ale & Hendrick’s that is refreshing while dispenses the drinker with an original variant of the Gin and Tonic.

Hendrick’s Martini
Loved by Winston Churchill, this classic drink will be mostly appreciated very, very dry with Hendrick’s.

It is finished with a cucumber bowl or a cucumber sliver to make it a perfect one.

Hendrick's Basil Smash
This is a classic that has become a contemporary.

This is a creation from Joerg Meyer at Hamburg Le Lion.

Simplicity at its best, basil, lemon and gin shaken together deliver a perfect combination that has found its match with Hendrick’s gin.

Not for everyone.
