Recession? What recession? American underwear label Victoria's Secret probably didn't get the memo, judging from their recently-concluded fashion show in Miami. Not that we're complaining, of course.
The label's Miami showing was a fabulously opulent extravaganza featuring 35 of the world's top supermodels decked out in fancy lingerie dripping in feathers, lace, sequins and studded jewellery. Said company CEO Sharen Turney, "The theme of the show is a return to glamour. Victoria's Secret is about sexy, and the new sexy is glamorous for this season."
PlushAsia agrees. The brilliant stage setup of two silver palm trees were the perfect backdrop for the models who wore a total of 68 outfits inspired by various fantasy themes. Themes featured include glamour goddesses and 1920s geometrical designs.
"You could wear it as an open top because it looks like a finished top."
Designer of US$5million Fantasy Bra, Martin Katz
The highlight: Brazillian supermodel Adriana Lima (catch her in action in the latest Ugly Betty season) strutting the runway in the VS Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra worth a cool US$5 million.
Designed by Martin Katz, the bra is decorated with white and black diamonds and rubies and according to the man himself, "You could wear it as an open top because it looks like a finished top." The Miracle Bra will be available for sale in the Victoria Secret's catalogue.

For the finale, supermodel and tv host Heidi Klum walked the runway in a striking red getup complete with sparkling red wings joined in a web of diamonds, which were made to resemble a bow on a present.
Celebrities spotted on the pink carpet (a nice touch) included rap mogul P Diddy, socialities Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian and other Hollywood favourites John Stamos and Martha Stewart.
