Parties, parties, parties: Plush parties hard over F1 week
by Simi Antoinette, Plush|04 September 2010

After parties, lounge parties, pre-parties! Isn't that the best thing about being your Plush mistress? I get to boogie down with you and then tell you all about it!

This year's F1 was definitely party mayhem. One week before the weekend race and your Plush mistress was running around trying to make it to all the parties so she can share with you what went on.

The first one was the Johnnie Walker Black Lounge launch.

Johnnie Walker Global Responsible Drinking Ambassador and ex-F1 driver, Mika Haikennen, made his appearance, said a few words, revealed an excellent supercar and then all of us (your Plush mistress' circle) sampled Johnnie Walker signature cocktails and took in the atmosphere of the Black Lounge.

Situated in the centre of Clarke Quay, this two storey black box had big screens to show the race as well as an upstairs VIP area to enjoy your cocktails exclusively.

Next up was the Living in Style - International 2009 series. A week long slew of events from catwalk shows to charity galas. You can read about that here.

The Red Bull party at Wavehouse in Sentosa was one huge pre-party. Plush got a glimpse of David Coulthard but the drivers did not make an appearance at all.

They went up to VIP, stayed there and left. Rather unfortunate, really.

However, your Plush mistress got the mingle with a few millionaires and well-know figures in the elite community, so, no complaints there!

Your Plush mistress' favourite gala was the The Crystal Ball held at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia.

Attended by 500 specially hand-picked guests including The Crystal Balls' ambassador and  Indian socialite Ramona Narang Rodella with appearances by McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, Heikki Kovalainen and Williams' Nico Rosberg to aid in the charity auction, the evening was one filled with sophistication, glam and generosity.

The highest bid for the night was by a private buyer who paid $10,500 for a personally signed Racing Suit by Damon Hill from his Formula 1 World Championship period at Williams.

With a catwalk show by Australian designer Jayson Brunsdon and music by jazz specialists, the Crystal was certainly the most desired Grand Prix event to be at.

Porsche Carrera Cup had a party at Society Bar on the same night as the Crystal Ball. It was a welcome event for its members and supporters.

The party looked like a fun, intimate gathering where everyone had a rather splendid time.

Race weekend

The first day of the race saw your Plush mistress getting invited to the Singapore Flyer to enjoy AQUA by Grandstand - a portable three storey entertainment venue that was placed right next to the track for great viewing.

It also had a transparent tank, called the Shark Tank, where guests could cool off in the heat of the races.

Race day also saw some Porsche Carrera Cup members enjoy the race in a private section in AQUA.

AQUA was one of the better places to be at to enjoy the races, mingle and be merry with plenty of music and drink around. Your Plush mistress spent race weekend there and the view from the Flyer - whoa! Absolutely breathtaking.

Race weekend was definitely party hard time. StereoLab at Pan Pacific hotel was the official F1 lounge party organised by Tamara Ecclestone, Bernie Ecclestone's daughter. There were a few familiar faces on both nights with a fun atmosphere.

Podium Lounge was a pool side party in Ritz-Carlton Millenia where guests watched a live screening of the races and then partied till 3am with lots of champagne and some good house music.

MP S Iswaran made Podium Lounge one of his party stops after the main race and he sure looked like he was having a good time. Your Plush mistress is pretty sure he was a hit with the ladies too!

One on the Bund also showed a live screening of the races for the Johnnie Walker Jet Black party.

Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet and a free flow of Johnnie Walker signature cocktails.

Situated in Clifford Pier just next to the race track, guest could hear the cars zooming past as well as catch all the action on the big screens inside. Definitely a great place to be.

The main after-party still proved to be Amber Lounge Singapore.

Created by Sonia Irvine, ex F1-racer Bernie Irvine's sister, Amber Lounge saw enough F1 drivers and local and international celebs to claim its reign on being the VIP party of the F1 circuit.

Your Plush mistress made it in on the first night and it was well worth checking out.

A hectic week of crazy parties, tons of high society fun and getting to know the elite crowd, your Plush mistress is a tired but very happy camper!

Your Plush mistress is still in need of rest since she hopped venues and was out till the wee hours of 7am just to bring you, Plush elites, the happenings of F1 week.

But that won't stop her partying still!

Till next year, party on hard!
