For Isaac and Pamela, their dream of Singapore as a sturdy platform for teddy bear artists and lovers, is soon becoming a reality. The passionate organisers are bringing back The Singapore Teddy Bear Show for the year 2008 that had enjoyed resounding success in 2007.
This year, two New Zealander teddy bear artists, Heather Lyell and Roy Watkins, will debut their creations in Singapore.
Rosalie Frischmann (USA), one of 2007's favourite artist, will feature her prized dogs collection popular world over (see right).
Visitors at the show will also be treated to Nana Pong's (Singapore) unique teddy bear that is a modern interpretation of the tradition mohair type (see below left).
In an interview with PlushAsia, Pamela believes that the "bear" market does not apply when it comes to finding adoptive "parents" for teddy bears.
Isaac and Pamela's creations can fetch up to $1,200 for a pair of wedding teddy bears. She enthuses,"it makes more sense now to invest in collectable works of arts than in stocks, bonds or other financial products."
The STEIFF brand is world renowned earmarked with "Knopf im Ohr" (Button in Ear) series (see below).
Visitors can look forward to bringing home their very own limited edition Steiff Japan Teddy at the special price of $120 (recommended retail price at $350). The STEIFF Japan Teddy has been specially presented with extra brilliant Swarovski Xillion Stone buttons.
For the love of children and charity, the show will also exhibit several teddy bears handmade by a group of under-privileged children aged 10 to 15 years old. These talented children come from the beneficiaries of The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.
The Singapore Teddy Bear Show 2008 will be held on the 9th November, 2008 (Sunday) from 10am-5pm at The Arts House. Admission is free.
