Come Oct 30, 2008, Cortina Watch returns with its biennial, award-winning luxury showcase - Jewellery Time 2008 - held at Paragon. The bold 'Rock Baroque' theme showcases legendary jewellery timepieces fit for royalty.

With the Paragon atrium transformed into a luxe lounge, discerning connoisseurs and collectors can revel in the most glamorous, show-stopping timepieces in the world of haute horlogerie.

This year, the event is expected to cost close to $2.5 million. Setup alone is expected to cost some $500,000.

16 world celebrated brand's jewellery timepieces

Reinforcing Cortina Watch's leadership in luxury timepieces, Jewellery Time 2008 will showcase the latest and most stunning jewellery timepieces outside of Basel/Geneva for public viewing.

16 internationally acclaimed watch brands including Blancpain, Girard Perregaux and Chopard will be showcasing a coveted, limited edition selection available only in Singapore and exclusive to Jewellery Time.

The event will also see an unprecedented ensemble of jewelled timepieces for men who appreciate the finer things in life.

Esteemed master craftsmen from the world's most sought-after watch brands will be exclusively invited to the event to host private workshops. One such event is a hands-on enameling workshop hosted by Milus which is a rare and dying art of watch making.

'The Legacy - A Tale of Time & Intrigue' 

Another highlight of Jewellery Time 2008 is its second edition coffee table book titled 'The Legacy'. This limited edition photographic journal is specially commissioned by Cortina Watch to hallmark the ultimate luxury of timepieces.

Photographed by Peter Lau, the story unfolds in a groundbreaking narrative format, following the journey of a mysterious key. Featuring Asia's eminent entrepreneurs, artists, high society and celebrated personalities such as singer-songwriter Dick Lee, entrepreneurs Patrick Wee & Jaime Cuaca, and artistic director Gaurav Kripalani, this exclusive hard cover will feature a collection of the world's most desirable jewellery timepieces spun in a story of adventure and intrigue.

800 limited edition hard-cover copies of the book will be given to guests during the official opening party and another 20,000 soft-cover copies will be available to VIP customers.
