Will Marina Bay Sands host the Iifa next year?

The signs at the recent Iifa weekend in Macau point to the possibility that the best of Bollywood might be headed to the integrated resort which is scheduled to open by the end of the year.

During the launch of Anil Kapoor’s film Shortcut – The Con Is On, a member of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, which operates The Venetian-Macao-Resort-Hotel and the upcoming Marina Bay Sands, showed a video of the attractions of the Singapore property.

This was followed by a video greeting at the Iifa awards show from the gaming giant’s chairman and chief executive officer Sheldon G. Adelson. “We hope to see you next year in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands,” he said.

tabla! checked with a spokesman from Wizcraft International, the event management company that runs the Iifa, who said that while they were in discussions about holding it in Marina Bay Sands, nothing has been confirmed at this stage.

A spokesman from The Venetian also could not confirm if the Iifa will be held at Marina Bay Sands.

The last time Singapore hosted the Iifa was in 2004 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
