Designer Ferre to create jewellery line with Damiani
by Reuters|27 May 2009

Milan, Italy: Italian fashion brand Gianfranco Ferre, one of Milan's top designer names, is to create a jewellery collection as part of a deal with jeweller Damiani, the companies said on Tuesday.

Ferre creative directors Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi will head the line in gold, silver with diamonds and other gemstones, mainly aimed at women, but also featuring some pieces for men.

The items, whose prices will range between 500 and 10,000 euros ($1,012 and $20,239), will feature four main "themes", inspired by the late founding designer's style, notably the 'Signature Pin' - a safety pin Ferre carried, a joint statement said.

Ferre, renowned for his "architectural" style, died in 2007.

The brand is owned by fashion firm IT Holding, which was placed under special administration earlier this year.

The Ferre jewellery collection will be presented in September at the Spring/Summer 2010 womenswear fashion show. It will be sold in Ferre stores worldwide as well as Rocca stores, owned by Damiani.
