Old swimming pool becomes dancefloor at Chivas Live
by Simran Panaech, PlushAsia|30 September 2008

Friday night, Sep 26, was the night of all nights when it came to events. Due to the F1, everyone wanted to throw a party on the first day of the races.

Plush was certainly out and about covering as much as we could to give you exposure on what was going on.

One party that outshone the rest on Friday night, and even more so as it was not an F1 related party, was the Chivas Live at RVP.

Over 7,000 invited media, celebrities and guests passed through the once abandoned River Valley Swimming Complex, which hosted the latest instalment of the Chivas Live parties.

The "Chivas Live at RVP" event was a resounding success as it delivered yet another unique music experience, which saw droves of party goers  turning up non-stop throughout the six hour gig, the only one in town that night that did not have an F1-related theme.

Chivas Live is a music platform that promises to redefine the partying experience and embodies the whisky brand's declaration of enjoying a life less ordinary.

And that was certainly what it did!

Living up to its promise to deliver once-in a lifetime experiences, Chivas Live awed party revellers by transforming the abandoned pool into a chic dance venue, headlined by British electronic dance act Chicane.

Local DJ Yukun warmed up the crowd with an eclectic mix of Balearic Trance, which paved the way for British ambient trance act Chicane to take over with an astounding electronic music live set extravaganza. Plush has not seen so much enthusiasm in a crowd like this before - it was exuberantly wild!

Chivas Live redefined the term 'wet and wild' by producing intermittent showers of 'rain', much to the delight of many dancing in the pool dance floor. A hot and sticky night it was and the 'rain' help cool everyone down.

VIP was located at the end of the pool dance floor facing the stage and Chivas did not stop flowing. Mixers included green and white tea, soda, ginger ale and Red Bull. The hot and sticky night, coupled with the wet and wild made the drinking flow faster and everyone got to a good place fast!

Glow sticks and whistles were at hand and everyone was using them generously - an enjoyable crowd, loud and animated.

Singapore's top DJ Aldrin then took on the honour of closing for Chicane and hit a perfect home run to round up the night.

Alfred Goh, Brand Manager for Chivas said: "As market leaders, we want to set the benchmark and reward our consumers with unique experiences. Everyone deserves a Chivas Live story that they can share with their friends!"

Chivas Live at RVP is the second major Chivas Live party following its launch on Cavenagh Bridge, which saw Japan's Kyoto Jazz Massive Live Set perform for the first time on our shores.
