The new SLS AMG Roadster was launched at the Mercedes-Benz Centre to 150 guests who were the first in Singapore to catch a glimpse of this super sports car.

At the launch, strictly-by-invitation-only guests were treated to bites from Ristorante Da Valentino and entertained by a smooth jazz performance by Ruth Ling.

The new Roadster adds a second car to the AMG - the high-performance brand of Mercedes-Benz Cars - model family, following the world premiere of the gullwing model in 2009.

Wolfgang Huppenbauer, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore, said, "The SLS Roadster is a super sports car, cruiser and highly desirable dream car all in one - a perfect synthesis of open-top driving pleasure, outstanding driving performance and systematic lightweight construction in a breathtaking design."

The SLS AMG Roadster retains design features reminiscent of the 300SL Roaster, the classic dream-car from the 1950s.

Distinctive features include a 6.3-litre V8 engine, innovative lightweight aluminium chassis and an optional Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG high-end surround sound system.
