Day & Night
by Sharan Kaur, PlushAsia|03 September 2008

More of a keepsake than a functional timepiece, this collection presents a watch that does not tell the time. A world's first for Romain Jerome, this watch does not feature the hour, minute and second hands.

Instead, the watch offers a conceptual interpretation of time, rather than the traditional. It differentiates day from night, employing the first Romain Jerome movement, which is composed of two separate tourbillons. The first tourbillon corresponds directly to the first twelve hours of the day, before stopping. Then, the second tourbillon takes over, and corresponds to the next twelve hours of the night.

With this timepiece, Romain Jerome seeks to illustrate the passage from one life to another - from the working life during the day, to the private life during the night.
