If you're looking for a Christmas present that will stand the test of time, then there's no better gift than a lovely new watch for that special someone.

The million dollar question of course, is which watch to buy; so for those that are stumped as to where to begin, our advice is to head down to one of the Watches of Switzerland outlets where you can pick from a great selection of brands.

There, you will find cool offerings such as the Armand Nicolet L10, an ultra flat limited edition timepiece that was introduced during Baselworld this year.

Featuring the manual winding movement AN710A which is derived from FHF 72, produced in 1960, the L10 is hot off the press. A real combination of aesthetic and technical excellence, this is a masterpiece of micromechanics that is perfect for a man with impeccable style.

If however, you're looking for something a bit more plush, you can pick from the Franck Muller Conquistador Grand Prix Collection.

New additions to this powerfully sporty collection include the Central Seconds and Tourbillon versions. All versions boast a flambe silvered dial with applied indexes, super luminova relief numerals and a body made of a high-tech alloy called Ergal, which is highly corrosion and abrasion resistant.

As for the ladies, Watches of Switzerland has on hand a classic from the Omega Ladymatic line.

Originally launched in 1955, the Ladymatic wristwatch line defines feminine grace and elegance. The watches in the Ladymatic line feature polished 34 mm cases with a distinctive ceramic ring between an outer decorative wave and the inner case body.

The cases are crafted in 18 Ct red or yellow gold or in stainless steel and the watches are offered with a choice of polished or snow-set diamond-paved bezels.

In addition, the polished screw-in crown is either set with a BRILLANT OMEGA CUT diamond or is embossed with a polished OMEGA logo and the polished caseback has a sapphire crystal that reveals the movement that powers the watch.

That said, these are but a smattering of choices that can be found at Watches of Switzerland, so why not head down there now for a quick peek. You'd never know, you might just find something worth your while.
