$92,000 turntable to spin your vinyls
by Simran Panaech, PlushAsia|01 January 2009

Italian company Angelis Labor is set to show an uber-expensive turntable at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month, reported Wired Blog Network.

It also said the device, called the Gabriel, can cost between US$27,000 ($39,000) and US$64,000 ($92,000).

According to Angelis Labor's website, the Gabriel is a magnetic suspension record player constructed by overlapping bronze over aluminium and can be customised with up to four arms. The materials used to construct this device also include stainless steel.

The turntable system is composed of three parts - the table and base for one to four arms, the 13-inch Gabriel Arm, and the cartridge. The Gabriel Arm is made in Modena, Italy in the same factory where Ferrari manufactures its precision parts in highly technical alloys.

The assembled unit is quite tall and heavy - over 30 kilos.

Wired Blog Network said that even Angelis Labor calls it "admittedly over-the-top" and that it's a pity it's not made of gold, considering the price tag. But, what an eye-catching beauty we say!
