Champagne soiree for launch of Ferrell Residences
by Simran Panaech, PlushAsia|30 December 2008

Ferrell Asset Management hosted a champagne soiree of 250 guests in the lush showflat gallery of its inaugural property development, Ferrell Residences. The showflat gallery, which is located in the prime District 10 area and just 3 minutes’ drive to the central business district, was transformed into a luxe cocktail venue that witnessed its first ever fashion show by Singaporean fashion design icon Thomas Wee as he presented his 08 / 09 Holiday Collection.

Ferrell Residences' showflat currently houses over $1 million worth of art by renowned Asian artists including the works of Hong Kong modern art pioneer Cheung Yee, acclaimed watercolour artist Wang Wei Xin, Taiwanese sculptor Ju Ming, and Chinese contemporary artist Ye Jian Qing.

Hosted by the Executive Director of Ferrell Asset Management, Jeanna Chan, esteemed guests flew in specially from around the region to join in the celebrations. Reputable guests included CEO of HSBC Mr Guy Harvey-Samuel and Managing Director of Enterprise Banking at DBS Mr Lim Chu Chong, Managing Director of Tiffany & Co. Ms Hew Yee Min and BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP President of Licensing/International Ms Karen Ioli.

Arriving in red carpet glamour, guests were led into a realm of exquisite spatial design where a  saxophonist greeted guests at the reception. Also turning up in full force were A-list movers and shakers such as Dr. Georgia Lee, Dr. Frank Cintamani, Calvin and Janet Liok, Elena and Gerti Iwatake, and celebrity Junita Simon as they lounged and indulged in Duval-Leroy champagne.

Dinner was specially prepared by award-winning chef Yang Lai Fatt, who is the Executive Chinese Chef from Meritus Mandarin Singapore. He is renowned for his specialisation in authentic Cantonese cuisine. He served up a feast of classic signature dishes such as Peking Duck with Spinach crepes, Foie Gras with Red Wine and Wheat, Chilled Shark’s Fin Magnificent and Lamb Rack baked in Honey Sauce.

To kick-start the evening, Jeanna Chan welcomed guests with an opening speech. Recognising fashion as a form of a lifestyle statement, she shared Ferrell’s vision and future plans to develop a stronger role in fashion, which includes plans to invest in Thomas Wee’s upcoming boutique and Asia’s first Herve Leger flagship store - hailed as a fashion favourite by Hollywood stars and celebrities - in Singapore. Guests were, then, treated to the fashion show.

Contemporary chic and stylish living

Bringing to life the opulent living space, the showflat lit up in dramatic fashion as elegantly structured silhouettes showcased Thomas Wee’s latest 08 / 09 Holiday Collection.

Presenting 16 designs from his latest collection, models posed in an assembly of bejewelled colours on a unique bridge platform specially constructed over a pond as Ferrell representatives led guests on a tour around the showflat. Revealing a seamless flow of living space, the showflat exemplified a multi-sensory residential experience that produces a new expression of balance fusing creativity, functionality and aesthetics.

Thomas Wee's vision for the 08 / 09 Holiday Collection shares the same design philosophy as the premium freehold residential property – innovation, quality, and elegant living. As Thomas Wee puts it, "My designs are in line with Ferrell Residences’ philosophy as they both embrace contemporary chic and stylish living for the discerning buyer."

Guests mingled to live Latin jazz harmonics of Columbian singer, Marcela Pinilla and her band, acquainting themselves with the newly unveiled lifestyle and fashion icons of Ferrell Asset Management – Ferrell Residences and Thomas Wee.

Blending innovation, elegance and quality living, Ferrell reaffirms its core philosophy; the balance of wealth and harmony.
