Street chic gets a colourful update with the Ray-Ban’s Fall/Winter 2008 collection of multi-colored Wayfarers. Originally designed in the 1950s as durable shades for pilots, the popularity of the distinctively shaped Wayfarers has since trickled down to celebrities, and inevitably, the street.
The Wayfarer model now comes in bright electric shades such as turquoise, chili-red, pure white, and cool ivory, while the newer Wayfarer II model, released in the 1980s, has been gifted with riotous, contrasting shades such as pink and blue.
The Wayfarer II models are slightly sleeker, and have contrasting colours on the face and the side, compared to the original model. All lenses still use Ray-Ban’s original G-15 lenses, proving that some oldies are still very much goodies.
