World's first exclusive BMW M showroom opens in Singapore
by Tony Ng, Plush|12 February 2012

The world's first BMW M vehicles showroom has opened its doors to a glamorous crowd in Singapore.

The Munich Automobiles showroom located at 30 Tebans Gardens Crescent is managed by an independent retailer apart from the official BMW distributor, Performance Motors.

A spokesperson for BMW Asia likened the independent M showroom to how Eurokar Habitat, the retailer for BMW Mini, started.

Said the spokesperson: "The showroom is independent because they see a growing interest in the region."

She also discounted the possibility of other M showrooms opening in Asia.

At the launch, Dr Kay Segler, President of BMW M GmbH said: "This is a significant milestone in our BMW M global strategy."

Said Dr Segler: "This world's first BMW M showroom in Singapore represents the first step in our long-term commitment to bring BMW M customers, dedicated and focused experience with the brand."

Reputed for being the top-line high-performance range of BMW's offering, the M is regarded as the sports car with the most F1 technology on the road.

The BMW M series' appeal lies in its performance engineering and all BMW M models are tested and developed on the Nurburgring track, a track that has been increasingly used as a proving ground for car makers.

The showroom's main attraction is Singapore's first interactive soundwall where car enthusiasts can revel in the purr of the different M engines through headphones.

Serious fans can also soak in the history of the cult series with a heritage wall chronologically outlining BMW M's key milestones since its inception in 1972.

They can also share their BMW M experiences in the VIP room where a wall is dedicated to photographs taken by fans of their defining BMW M moments.

Not only can visitors purchase the latest BMW M3, X6M, X5M and M6 models, but the showroom also retails BMW M accessories and offers servicing for all BMW cars with its cutting edge equipment.

"BMW M owners who send in their car for servicing will receive top-level service and can even enjoy the rare experience of viewing their car whilst it is being serviced from behind a glass screen. By the last quarter of this year, we will also launch a full aftersales facility catering to BMW cars," concluded Mr Chang.

Munich Automobiles Showroom and Service Centre is located at 30 Teban Gardens Crescent.

It will open its doors to the public from Aug 2, Monday.

Opening hours are: Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 7 pm Sundays and Public Holidays, 9am to 6pm.
