It’s only July but this may well be the party of the year.
Party by the Bay at the Fullerton Bay Hotel was like feasting on a prized artichoke, leaf by leaf, each giving way to a party within a party and then uncovering yet another party.
Those very clever people at Fide Multimedia have the knack for memorable eventing, a charity ball here, a theatrical event there, a big birthday bash for this brand, a fashion plate for that label.
Guests run the gamut from bloggers to industrialists to royalty to The New Paper on Sunday.

But first, a word and more about Fullerton Bay Hotel.
If you haven’t been, drop off at historical Clifford Pier, now its lobby, and explore all the Bay’s levels.
From anywhere you sit, the view’s worth the price of the drink.
Fide Multimedia invited 200 urbane folk (who work in the city) and beautiful people, and a handful of dressed-down socialites to check out urban living and the property of 100 rooms on seven floors.
Legal eagles, estate agents, marketing gurus, artistes and management suits mixed and mingled in the Landing Point’s bar and verandah, shades of Venice, only guests checking in by water’s missing!
The party was happening on all levels, in the Clifford (modern brasserie) and Lanterns (poolside bar) and lobby.
Dress code was art deco and host Dr Frank Cintamani’s guests never disappoint, he leading in what he called “rojak dressing” but was really a close second to Tom Ford’s sartorial style.
A flap of four friends swished in, redolent of the 1920s, including cigarette holder but no smokes, natch, they were smokin’ enuff.
Never leave early, later, the entrance of the shining – Dr Georgia Lee – almost always the star light of the luminous, followed by that happiness couple Fann Wong and Christopher Lee, and Pat Mok and Pan Ling Ling and David Gan.
“Don’t leave yet, we’ve got a birthday surprise for David,” whispered Georgia in 1920s glam.
We bundled into the brasserie of this jewel of a hotel for desserts, overseen by Mr Giovanni Viterale, who manages both Fullertons.
And then marching orders to poolside on sixth for the best view of the bay area, plus surprise cupcakes, each one topped by an edible Birkin bag.
“Because it is David’s favourite bag,” explained Pat Mok in her Coco Chanel get-up.
David could only sigh: “My birthday is next week, but they all want to do this!”
